There is something comforting about a reset… until you realize you still have an entire life to manage while you are trying to be calm. I used to think resetting meant dropping everything, disappearing for a weekend, and coming back magically refreshed. But living a real adult life with a full time job, an MBA program, dogs, chores, and a social life does not work like that. So I had to create my own version of a reset, one that fits into the cracks of everyday life without putting me behind.
For me, a reset starts small. It looks like wiping down the counters while my apple cider brews, throwing a load of laundry in before I leave the house, rearranging the couch, or sorting through the dogs one million toys. It is not glamorous, and it definitely does not feel like a spa day, but it is the kind of maintenance that actually clears space in my brain.
And honestly, sometimes the reset is emotional too. Like taking a breath after a heavy work week, giving myself permission to slow down even if it is only for thirty minutes, going to yoga to recenter, or choosing to step into a community event because being around people who care helps me feel human again. It is knowing I do not need a full weekend off to feel better. I just need a few intentional moments that remind me I am allowed to recharge in my own way.
The funny thing is, every little reset makes the rest of my week smoother. It keeps me from spiraling into chaos. It is like giving myself a small head start without having to sacrifice everything else on my plate. And I think that is the sweet spot for busy girls. Staying grounded while still keeping life moving.
