I have been thinking a lot about adding yoga into my routine lately. Not because I want to suddenly become a morning person who flows through sun salutations at sunrise (though that sounds nice in theory), but because I have realized how much my body and mind need gentler movement. I spend so much time taking care of everything and everyone else, between work, the house, and errands, that sometimes I forget my body deserves attention that is not about productivity.
For me, yoga is not about the perfect poses. It is about creating a small ritual that asks nothing from me except to show up. Even if it is ten minutes on a mat in my living room with the dogs wandering around, that still counts. I think that is the mindset I am trying to keep. Adding something new does not have to mean a total lifestyle overhaul. It can just mean breathing deeper once a day and calling that a start.
I have caught myself scrolling through class schedules, imagining what it would feel like to actually go and be surrounded by people all doing something slow and intentional. I know it will take time to make it a habit, but right now, even the idea feels peaceful.
And that is where it begins. Not with a big plan, but with the thought that you deserve something soft and grounding in the middle of all the noise. I got past the anxiety of going on my own and booked my first class for tomorrow!
