Once the temperature drops, it’s easy to fall into a routine of blankets, snacks, and endless TV marathons. And while those nights absolutely have their place, sometimes you need to get out. I’ve learned that getting out of the house in winter doesn’t have to mean standing in the freezing wind or walking a trail in the snow. Sometimes it’s as simple as finding an indoor space that helps you get away from the house.
Lately, I’ve been making a small list of go-to places when I start to feel stir-crazy. Bowling nights have always been a favorite with the neon lights, and the comfort of greasy food, music, and laughter. The Nevada Museum of Art is always ideal when I need something that feels both creative and calm. Or sometimes I’ll treat myself to a nice dinner somewhere new. Local spots like Casa Grande give that “night out” feel without the pressure of a fancier expectation.
But I’ve also learned that sometimes, you still need the outdoor time. Fresh air resets your brain in a way indoor lighting can’t, even if it means layering up and braving the cold. A short walk by the river, grabbing a coffee to go, or a trip to the pumpkin patch. The key is not to stop living just because the weather changes.
